Itinerary
Upon arrival in Ahmedabad, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in. Begin your sightseeing with a visit to the Akshardham Temple in Gandhinagar, dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan. This stunning temple, the largest in Gujarat, was constructed under the guidance of Pramukh Swami Maharaj and is renowned for its grandeur, sprawling over 23 acres of land and built with pink sandstone. Next, explore the historic Sidi Sayed Mosque, built in 1573, famous for its intricate arched latticework. Continue to the Swetambara Hatheesing Jain Temple, an ornate marble temple dedicated to Dharamnath, featuring rich carvings and a grand sanctuary. Then, visit the Gandhi Ashram, a peaceful retreat and a historical landmark where Mahatma Gandhi led India’s struggle for independence. It remains a place of inspiration, offering insights into Gandhi's life and his contributions. Afterward, drive to Adalaj to witness the architectural marvel of the stepwell, built by Queen Rudabai. This seven-story structure, used historically for respite from the intense summer heat, is one of Gujarat's finest examples of traditional water architecture. Return to Ahmedabad for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your drive to Dwarka, with an en-route stop at Bala Hanuman Temple in Jamnagar. Famous for its continuous chanting of "Jai Ram, Shri Ram" since 1964, this temple is noted for its place in the Guinness World Records for the 24-hour chanting
Begin your day early by attending the morning Aarti at the Dwarkadhish Temple, followed by breakfast. Then, proceed to explore some of Dwarka's key attractions:
After breakfast, proceed to Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Visit the Kirti Temple, the house where Gandhi was born, and explore the Gandhi Museum, which showcases the life and times of the great leader. Don’t miss a visit to Sudama Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna’s devotee Sudama.
After breakfast, visit the sacred Bhalika Tirth and the serene Triveni Ghat. Later, proceed to Diu, a tranquil island known for its stunning combination of sun, sand, and sea. Situated at the southern tip of the Saurashtra (Kathiawad) peninsula, Diu is a peaceful haven surrounded by the Arabian Sea. This picturesque island, rich in history, was a Portuguese colony until 1961 and is now a Union Territory, separated from Goa in 1987. Diu was once an important trading post and naval base, controlling shipping routes in the northern Arabian Sea between the 14th and 16th centuries.
After breakfast, drive to Sasangir. Please note that Gir National Park is closed from 15th June to 15th October every year. During this period, we will visit Devalia Park in Sasangir as an alternative wildlife experience. Devalia Park also remains closed on Wednesdays and during heavy rainfall.
After breakfast, drive back to Ahmedabad. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
