Arrive in Leh on a morning flight, where you'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink as you check into your room. The rest of the day is dedicated to acclimatizing to Leh’s high altitude (3,500 meters), so take time to relax and allow your body to adjust. For those who prefer a bit of exploration, a leisurely stroll around the hotel or nearby areas is recommended, but avoid any strenuous activity. In the evening, savor a delightful dinner at the hotel before retiring for an Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, begin your drive along the Indus River on the Leh–Kargil Highway. The first stop is the Hall of Fame, a museum built by the Indian Army, which is a must-visit for every Indian. Continue to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, located at an altitude of 3,600 meters, about 22 km from Leh, built in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and nestled deep in the Himalayas.Next, visit the Magnetic Hill, a fascinating spot that appears to defy the laws of gravity. A short drive from there brings you to the famous confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers, where the Indus flows from Tibet (left) and the Zanskar from Zanskar Valley (right).After witnessing this natural wonder, proceed to Alchi Gompa, a historic monastery complex within a village that dates back to the 11th century and is one of the most revered in Ladakh. On the return journey to Leh, visit the Likir Monastery, originally built in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 18th century, home to a 25-foot gold-covered statue of Lord Buddha.In the late afternoon, take a city tour with a walk through the local markets, followed by visits to the Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Later, return to the hotel for dinner and an Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
After breakfast, embark on a drive to Nubra Valley. The journey takes you over Khardung La, the second-highest motorable road in the world, at an altitude of 5,602 meters (18,390 feet), located about 39 km from Leh. From the top, you can enjoy stunning views to the south, overlooking the Indus Valley with the endless peaks of the Zanskar Range, and to the north, the towering giants of the Saser Massif.Nubra Valley, also known as Ldumra, meaning the Valley of Flowers, lies between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas, with an average altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level.Upon arrival in Nubra, check in at your camp or hotel in Hunder. In the evening, take a stroll through the small villages to experience the local way of life. Overnight stay at the camp or hotel in Nubra Valley.
After an early breakfast, set off for Turtuk, a village near the border that was gained by India during the 1971 war with Pakistan. Explore the 16th-century mosque, which reflects a blend of Turkish and Iranian culture, along with the ruins of the ancient fort of the Dhards and a local monastery. Enjoy breathtaking views of the renowned K2 peak, the second-highest mountain in the world after Mount Everest. Later, return to your hotel for an Overnight stay at the camp or hotel in Nubra Valley.
After an early breakfast, check out from the camp or hotel and head towards Hunder, where you’ll have the chance to ride a Bactrian (double-humped) camel amidst the sand dunes of this high-altitude desert, with snow-capped mountains in the background. On the way back, stop at Diskit, the administrative hub of Nubra Valley, and take a stroll through the local bazaar to observe daily life.Continue the drive towards Pangong Tso via Agham and Shyok Valley. Though some parts of the road, especially near Nubra, can be quite challenging, the scenic beauty along the way makes the journey worthwhile.After crossing this adventurous stretch, proceed through Durbuk and Tangtse, passing a few small villages of the Changthang region. Eventually, you'll get a sudden glimpse of the stunning Pangong Lake, located at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). Upon arrival, check in at your camp or hotel near the lake. Spend the morning leisurely exploring the stunning beauty of Pangong Lake. Later, we’ll drive back to Leh via Changla Pass, which stands at 5,486 meters. Enroute, visit Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of the Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Continue to Thiksey, an impressive monastery that rises tier upon tier on a hill overlooking the village. After another 5 km drive through picturesque landscapes, we’ll reach Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh, and the famous Rancho School from the movie 3 Idiots. Finally, continue the drive to Leh. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.
Your tour concludes today. You will be transferred to the domestic airport in a timely manner to catch your flight to your next destination.
